Hematology

It is a branch of medicine that examines blood diseases and cancers and deals with the diagnosis and treatment of these diseases. Physicians specialized in this field are also called hematologists.
Cancer and anemia such as leukemia and lymphoma are some of the diseases examined by hematologists. Immunological, pathological and biochemical tests are of great importance in the diagnosis and treatment of these.
Nowadays, one of the most important sciences that support hematology is genetic. The reason for this is that a significant number of hematological diseases have been identified as hereditary or de novo (formed during life) genetic changes. The number of these changes is increasing every day.
