The first step is to give information about how the nerves are transmitted by giving tiny electrical currents; the second stage in which the muscles are evaluated and fine disposable, sterile needles are used. The duration of the examination may be 20-60 minutes, depending on the cause. The patient should come to the examination with a full stomach and care should be taken to ensure that the area to be examined is clean in order to make a correct evaluation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>In which diseases is the EMG procedure performed?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In diseases affecting the nerves and muscles, EMG can be requested. In some cases it may not be sufficient by itself and is supplemented by additional examinations.
